Any training that does not include the emotions, mind and body is incomplete; knowledge fades without feeling.

For most people, yoga conjures up an image of sitting quietly and meditating, but at Inhale we utilize a serious of movements in which participants move through a series of poses based on several styles of yoga.  All of our Yoga is a combination of deep breathing and an assortment of yoga postures (asanas).  Please review the styles and see our schedule for the appropriate yoga for you.

POWER YOGA (Vinyasa)

Exercise with a Twist

Power yoga builds strength, increases endurance, releases tension and creates flexibility.  The poses themselves are roughly the same as those practiced in traditional yoga, but greater emphasis is placed on standing poses. While the poses are held for longer than in traditional yoga, pose changes are performed without resting, resulting in a vigorous exercise that gives the muscles a good workout. Power yoga works core muscles in the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs particularly hard.  Compared to other types of yoga, power yoga involves longer holding and continual changing of poses. This style is effective for dieting and body shaping as well as stress relief.  Beginners find themselves soaked in sweat after just 15 to 30 minutes.  This relaxes the body and provides a wonderful soothing effect on the mind.

ASHTANGA

Exercise with the Sun

Learn to build a strong, safe, and healthy yoga practice, by learning the fundamentals of Surynamaskar (sun salutation) and basic standing postures.  "Eight-limbed union." The classical raja yoga system of eight progressive stages or steps as described in numerous Hindu scriptures including various Upanishads, the Tirumantiram by Saint Tirumular and the Yoga Sutras of Sage Patanjali. The eight limbs are: restraints (yama), observances (niyama), postures (asana), breath control (pranayama), sense withdrawal (pratyahara), concentration (dharana), meditation (dhyana) and contemplation (samadhi).
