When you are inspired by some great purpose,
some extraordinary project, all your thoughts
break their bonds; your mind transcends
limitations, your consciousness expands in every
direction, and you find yourself in a new, great
and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties
and talents become alive, and you discover
yourself to be a greater person by far than you
ever dreamed yourself to be.
~
Patanjali
(c.1st to 3rd century BC)

Inhale
Yoga the breath of life
While in recent years the word
"yoga" has been heard more in gyms than in religious
discourse, "yoga" in its original sense "Yoga" comes
from Sanskrit which can be translated to mean join or
unite. In the words of Alexander von Humboldt “True
enjoyment comes from activity of the mind and exercise
of the body; the two are united.”
Lisa Marie
Fasano

Lisa is the founder of both VITA Yoga and The Inhale
Power and Performance Yoga Institute. Lisa is a former
Wall Street Financial Consultant who has been teaching a
method of power yoga (OM the Zone™) that is an ideal
blend of core strength; body movements that strengthen
and stretch as it incorporates body awareness and
alignment infused with breath, flow and meditation. She
has studied under many recognized world leaders in the
practice of yoga such as Baron Baptiste, Shiva Rea, Dharma Mittra, John Friend, Rodney
Yee, Shri Pattabhi Jois, Ana Forrest and David Swenson
and Katherine Roberts of Yoga for Golfers®.
She holds a BA in Finance and Computer Science, and is a
certified Reiki practitioner. Lisa is also a Yoga for Golfers® and
Spinning® Instructor. She has incorporated this
knowledge into her fitness classes and workshops for
adults and children. She has taught standard and sports
related fitness privately in homes, clubs, studios and
seminars. Combining her 16 years of practice, studies
and corporate experience she has developed dozens of
programs for all ages and all levels, most recently the
NY Islanders.
Lisa began
practicing yoga to relieve chronic back pain; having
suffered for many years following a car accident that
left her with ruptured disks and nerve damage. She
underwent years of physical therapy, chiropractic
treatment, and acupuncture, but the relief was only
temporary. Inevitably the pain would return, making
everyday activities a challenge. Through a daily yoga
practice, visualization and breathing exercises, she
began a slow, powerful, and sometimes difficult
transformation. Yoga, built the mobility, flexibility
and strength in her body that was missing, and created
lasting results. Not only has this process continued to
heal her physically, eventually making her pain-free for
the first time in many years, but it has transformed her
whole life. It was this profound experience that
inspired Lisa to teach yoga and overall fitness.
When Lisa
is not teaching, she will most likely be with her
husband and their two greatest teachers, their two
children.
